Privacy Policy

FE CTF Lab is operated by Amlan Roy as a personal side project. This Privacy Policy explains how FE CTF Lab collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information when recruiters, candidates, visitors, or other users access the service.
This policy is written for a practical frontend assessment product. If you use FE CTF Lab to invite candidates, you are responsible for making sure your use of the service is lawful and that candidates receive any notices or consents your organization is required to provide.

Information We Collect
The exact information collected depends on how you use the service. FE CTF Lab may collect information that you provide directly, information generated while using assessments, and technical information needed to operate and secure the service.
- Account and contact details, such as name, email address, login information, and account settings.
- Recruiter and organization details, such as organization name, assessment templates, candidate invitations, and assessment administration activity.
- Candidate assessment data, such as invite links, session identifiers, challenge responses, flags, scores, timestamps, progress, submissions, review notes, and related evaluation data.
- Authentication, security, and support data, such as login events, password reset activity, abuse reports, troubleshooting messages, and communications with the operator.
- Device, log, cookie, and usage data, such as browser type, IP address, pages viewed, request metadata, error logs, and approximate usage activity.
How We Use Information
- Provide, maintain, secure, debug, and improve FE CTF Lab.
- Authenticate users and protect accounts, candidate links, assessments, and service infrastructure.
- Create and administer recruiter assessments, candidate sessions, reports, scoring summaries, and review workflows.
- Share candidate results with the recruiter or organization that created or sent the assessment.
- Respond to requests, investigate misuse, enforce terms, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
Candidate Assessment Data
If you complete an assessment through FE CTF Lab, your assessment activity may be visible to the recruiter or organization that invited you. This may include your answers, scores, timestamps, challenge progress, review notes, and other evidence generated during the assessment.
Do not submit passwords, personal secrets, government identifiers, health information, financial information, confidential employer material, or third-party confidential information through an assessment unless the assessment explicitly asks for it and you are legally allowed to provide it.
Recruiter Responsibilities
Recruiters and organizations are responsible for using FE CTF Lab lawfully. This includes giving candidates any required notices, getting required permissions, complying with employment and privacy laws, making fair and lawful hiring decisions, and avoiding discriminatory use of assessment data.
How Information Is Shared
- With the recruiter or organization that invited a candidate, so they can review assessment results and related hiring evidence.
- With service providers that help run the service, such as hosting, database, authentication, email, analytics, monitoring, security, and support providers.
- When reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, safety obligations, abuse prevention, security investigations, or enforcement of the Terms of Service.
- If the project, assets, or service are transferred, merged, reorganized, or discontinued, subject to reasonable protection for user information.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
FE CTF Lab may use cookies, local storage, session storage, and similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, analytics, debugging, and service operation. Some of these technologies are necessary for login and assessment functionality.
Retention
Information is kept for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain assessment records, support recruiters and candidates, protect security, resolve disputes, enforce terms, comply with law, and operate the side project. Deletion requests may be limited when retention is legally, security-wise, or operationally necessary.
Security
FE CTF Lab uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards for a side project, but no online service, database, network, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure. Users are responsible for protecting their own accounts, passwords, devices, and candidate links.
International Processing
The service and its providers may process information in countries where the operator or service providers operate. By using FE CTF Lab, you understand that information may be transferred to and processed in locations outside your country of residence.
Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent. These rights are not absolute and may be subject to identity verification, legal limits, security requirements, and operational constraints.

Children
FE CTF Lab is not directed to children under 13 and is not intended for use by children under 13. Do not use the service or submit information if you are under 13. If the operator learns that information from a child under 13 was collected, reasonable steps will be taken to delete it.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are posted. Continued use of FE CTF Lab after an update means the updated policy applies to future use.
